Union Closes Down Ports Again
The union representing French port workers have announced that they will commence a 72-hour work stoppage this week after government officials failed to make any new proposals to their protest on pension reform.
Following a meeting between unions, the government, and employers last week, the Federation Nationale des Ports et Docks (FNPD-CGT) issued a statement calling on their membership to refuse overtime and exceptional shifts from April 1, 2025, and commence a “Ports Morts” (Dead Ports) work stoppage on April 2, 3, and 4.
The action will cause disruption to export and import shipments and Neer Service will continue to keep partners and clients updated on any specific shipments impacted and work to mitigate the effects of the industrial action.
NEER Service Receive Environmental Certificate
In line with our commitment for a more sustainable future, Neer Service are pleased to report that the company has been recertified for “Objective C02”.
Objective CO2 is an emission-reduction programme in the transport sector and is the only national-level scheme in France offering companies a structuring framework for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants in their transport activities.
Neer Service remain committed to continuing to reduce the environmental impact of our services.
We look forward to seeing friends and partners at the FIDI Conference in Dubrovnik later this month.
