Keeping You Moving During the Olympics
With less than 100 days until the start of the Paris Olympics and Paralympics and the rules regarding access to areas of the city established by the authorities, your sales, move management, and operations staff should be prepared for bookings to and from France in the coming months.
Neer Service do not anticipate any barriers to performing moves in most areas of the city and suburbs during the event, but it is important to pay special attention to moves between July 26 – August 11 and the week leading up to the Opening Ceremony. The “red zone” around venues will represent the most difficult areas but very few moves take place in this vicinity of the city.
Your Olympic Moving Checklist
- When performing pre-move surveys, sales teams should be closely monitoring dates of moves to France and pay special attention to shipments arriving in the days leading up to the start and during the Olympics.
- Move management staff should quickly establish move dates and the origin or destination addresses for moves taking place in Paris during this time and confirm the details to Neer Service for review and approval. The on-line platform for Neer Service to request approval to access areas close to venues will be launched in the coming days.
- Move management staff should be sure to counsel customers moving to or from France during the Olympics of the possibility of any traffic delays on their moving date to set realistic expectations.
- Your operations team should take extra care to make sure that container seal number and item count on the bill of lading are accurate and clearly documented. Neer Service do not anticipate any delays with customs clearance but customs authorities will be on heightened security alert and clear paperwork will help speed the process.
Again, as Neer Service operate our own crews and trucks, we believe that almost all moves can take place without any problems, but your participation in being prepared will assist in us delivering our normal standards of service.
